#168: Incendies (2010)

When and how did I watch this?

December 19th, 2015, on Amazon Instant Video.

Had I seen this film already?

Nope.

What did I know about the movie before watching it?

Canadian film based in Iraq.  Seemed like a strange combination.  Unfortunately, I couldn’t have been more right.

What do I know about it now?

This is the worst movie on the list that I’ve seen.  It’s disorganized, underdeveloped, and features the most bizarre twist you can possibly imagine.  It wasn’t dramatic or shocking: instead, it was hilarious and disgusting. I didn’t care about anyone in the film.  What a waste of time. They did that whole dramatic pause thing before just about every line, not because it was necessary, but perhaps to lengthen the film. It included elements like terrorism, rape, torture, and racism to make it seem more dramatic or poignant, but it was just a series of sloppy, shameless insertions to get attention from award organizations.

What are some themes in the film?

Terrorism, rape, torture, and racism

Did this affect me personally?

No.

Why is this ranked #168?

Terrorism, rape, torture, and racism.

Did my wife watch/like it?

No.

Would I watch it again?

NO.

Would I recommend it to a friend?

Be my friend and avoid it.

Does it deserve to be on this list as one of the greatest films of all time?

Why?  No.
